Incoming Board Member Bios

VP of Security: Tom Baldwin

Hello Inman Park Neighbors.  I am honored to have been nominated for the position of VP of Public Safety.  Inman Park has been my home for over 23 years, living the entire time on Waddell St.  I am excited about contributing once again to this neighborhood I love.  I've been active in the past with Festival (I was "Beer General" years ago) and I've also been active with outreach efforts at our neighborhood church, Inman Park United Methodist. This is my first time serving IPNA as a board member and Public Safety is the one I've had in mind should the time be right and the opportunity there.  It looks like that time is now.  I might even pull in my college age kids (22 and 20) to help out from time to time.  I look forward to serving this great neighborhood.

Inman Park Festival and WRFG - Segment 1 - LISTEN NOW!

Hello neighbors,
In partnership with WRFG, Inman Park Festival has begun a monthly interview series focusing on the history of Festival and Inman Park.
In this first segment, longtime neighbor Cathy Bradshaw (Hurt Street) discusses the rise and fall and rise of Inman Park and how banks not giving loans to homeowners led to the very first Festival in 1972.  Do you know the home where the first meeting took place?
We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed creating!
If you have ideas for future segments or would like to hear more about a topic discussed in this segment, please let us know.
A great big THANK YOU to WRFG, Station Manager Aisha Hardimon, Board Chair Kathleen Cooley, and neighbor Anna McEntee for making this happen!

New Tree Protection Ordinance Introduced

Yesterday, Atlanta City Council introduced legislation for a new Tree Protection Ordinance. It was referred to the Community Development and Human Services Committee for their next session on January 26, 2021. We have published the legislation, a summary of the revisions, and process diagrams on our Tree Protection Ordinance. In addition, there was accompanying legislation for a Zoning amendment which proposes setback variances for the purposes of tree preservation. We will also be sharing an interactive walk through of the ordinance and its components soon which we will send along when complete. Any feedback or questions you may have can be sent to the project team at treepr[email protected].
