IPNA and Trolley Barn Blood Drive

The American Red Cross now faces a severe blood shortage due to an unprecedented number of blood drive cancellations during this coronavirus outbreak.  Accordingly, IPNA and the Trolley Barn are co-hosting a blood drive on Thursday, April 9, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Trolley Barn, 963 Edgewood Avenue NE
To schedule an appointment to donate badly needed blood, go to redcrossblood.org (https://www.redcrossblood.org/) and use the sponsor code THETROLLEYBARN.
To protect us donors, the Red Cross is following these safety procedures, some of which are standard and some heightened:
  • Checking the temperature of staff and donors before entering a drive to make sure they are healthy
  • Providing hand sanitizer for use before the drive, as well as throughout the donation process
  • Spacing beds to follow social distancing practices between blood donors
  • Increasing enhanced disinfecting of all surfaces and all equipment
  • Routinely wiping down donor-touched areas
  • Wearing gloves and changing gloves with each donor
  • Using sterile collection sets for every donation
  • Preparing the arm for donation with an aseptic scrub
You can find an infographic on the Red Cross safety precautions at bit.ly/redcrossprecautions. You can read a letter from the Red Cross medical director at bit.ly/redcrossletter
Please consider donating blood. If you have questions or concerns, you may direct them to Jim Abbot, [email protected] or 404-281-0638. Thank you.

Volunteer Fair Cancelled

The Volunteer Fair scheduled for Sunday, March 22, at the Trolley Barn has been cancelled.

March 11 - MR-MU Town Hall With Commissioner Keane

Good afternoon, all,

I have invited Commissioner Tim Keane of the Department of City Planning, and Keyetta Holmes, Interim Director of Zoning, to join us for a public conversation on MR-MU zoning designation and the City’s intent, expectations, and guidelines for it. All are welcome.

While the conversation may be shaped, in part, by MR-MU zoning in the Old Fourth Ward, other neighborhoods in District 2 will also be invited.

Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, March 11, at 6pm-7:30pm at the new Station 464 Apartment Homes (464 Boulevard NE 30308). A big thank you to Wingate for hosting us that evening.

All the best,
Amir

Reminder - Inman Park Fourth of July Party

Inman Park Social

Join the Inman Park Neighborhood Association and it's 21 volunteer committees for our first ever Inman Park Social! We'll have food trucks, free beer and wine, live music and opportunities to get involved in your community.

Inman Park is a walkable neighborhood with historic homes, friendly neighbors, delicious food, locally owned retailers, and public art. Communities like ours don't happen organically.  They happen because hundreds of neighbors donate their time and talents to continually create and maintain Inman Park. Donate your time and talent to one of our committees. Commitments aren't a full time job. Donate what time you have and offer your expertise.

Volunteering is also a great way to get to know your neighbors. Your home is in Inman Park, become part of your community. Inman Park is more than a location.
