Here, you’ll find answers to questions people ask most often about the Inman Park Pool.

^ General/Contact Information

Where is the Inman Park pool located?
The pool entrance is on Spruce Street, tucked between two condo complexes.
Can anyone use the pool?
The Inman Park Pool is not a public pool. A membership is required. Members must bring an electronic key card to gain access as well as proper identification.
What is the pool season?
The pool is open every day from May 1-September 30 each year.
What are the hours of operation?
6 a.m.-9 p.m., seven days a week
Adult-only swim: 6 a.m.-9 p.m. (Access is allowed during pool hours only.)
When are Lifeguards on duty?
May 1 – May 14: Monday – Friday 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
May 15– August 13: Daily 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
August 14– October 1: Monday – Friday 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Is parking available?
Parking at the pool is for 10-minute drop off only. Members should park on Spruce St. or Delta Place. When parking on neighborhood streets near the pool, please be respectful residents’ homes. Be mindful of restricted and private parking areas and driveways, as you will be towed.
Can I use the pool to swim laps?
One lane will be reserved for lap swim at all times. All lap swimming is circular swimming.
How can I learn more about the latest pool news?
There is a bulletin board located in the bathhouse. Please check this for information about operations, swim teams, Board meetings, and other IPPA news. If you wish to post an item on the bulletin board, please give it to the pool manager.
Who manages pool business?
A seven-member Board of Directors manages the pool. Volunteers are always welcome and encouraged for special tasks.
Where is the IPPA mailbox located?
A locked pool mailbox is located at the end of Spruce Street. It is labeled 25 Spruce Street.

^ Becoming a Member

Can I arrange for a tour of the pool before becoming a member?
Yes. You can arrange a tour with one of the IPPA officers.
What types of memberships are available?
Memberships are lifetime, household memberships. A household is defined as a family or a group of not more than 4 adults living at a single mailing address:
  1. Residents of a single building with multiple addresses and addressees-such as a duplex or a condominium-shall be required to purchase one membership for each address.
  2. People who own and live in bed and breakfast establishments can purchase one membership for each guest bedroom in the establishment and one for the resident family.
  3. Owners of private schools and licensed childcare providers may purchase memberships, with restrictions.
Is membership limited?
Membership is limited to 325 members at any time.
How much does a new membership cost?
First year cost for new members is $2,860 (membership: $2,500 plus annual maintenance fee: $360).
Is there a payment option for new memberships?
Payment may be made with two checks for $1,430, one dated on the day you send the form, and the other dated two months later. If you choose to pay with two checks, please send both checks with your application and waiver. Make checks payable to Inman Park Pool Association.
Is there a yearly maintenance fee?
Yes. All members must pay a yearly maintenance fee.
How do I become an Inman Park Pool member?

Is there a waiting list to purchase a pool membership?
The waitlist for membership usually runs from 50-70 folk. Please email us if you would like to know the exact number.
Can my membership be revoked?
Yes. Membership in IPPA can be revoked for the following reasons: No refunds will be issued for a revoked membership.
Are there any special meetings for pool members to attend?
An annual meeting for all members will be held by August 15 of each year. The Board may also call special member meetings at their discretion.

^ Sale and Transfer of Memberships

How do I sell or transfer my membership?
Memberships can be transferred in the two following methods:
  1. Through property sale: The membership can be transferred to the buyer at the time of a home sale. The seller must send a noticed letter to the IPPA stating that the sale has occurred. The seller should give the access card(s) to the buyer. No refund for the membership fee is made to the seller at the time, assuming the value of the membership has been transferred through the home sale price. If the annual maintenance fee has been paid, it shall be credited to the new member. No maintenance fee refunds shall be issued.
  2. Through the IPPA Board: Members who wish to sell their memberships must sell the membership through the IPPA Board of Directors under the following process:
    1. The member must submit notice in writing to the Board.
    2. The Board will make the membership available on a first-come first serve basis to applicants for membership.
    3. After the membership is sold, the former member will receive a refund for the current membership at a price of up to $1,650 for those memberships purchased before 2001 and the amount paid for the membership for memberships purchased in or after 2001, after turning in the membership access card(s). No refunds will be made on maintenance fees.

^ Leasing Memberships

How do I lease my pool membership to a third party?
A life member may lease the use of the their membership for a season with a written request submitted to the Board. There are two methods in which a lease can take place:
  1. The life member may identify to whom the membership will be leased
  2. The life member may submit a written request to the Board to release their seasonal use. The Board will maintain a waiting list for families and individuals that are interested in leasing a member’s seasonal use. The names will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
    1. The lifetime member is responsible for the maintenance fee.
    2. Leased memberships cannot be sold until the end of the season.
How do I find someone to lease a membership from?

^ Fees

Is there a yearly maintenance fee?
Yes. To cover the cost of operations and maintenance of the pool facilities, maintenance fees will be set by the IPPA Board of Directors based on the budget and number of members. Fees shall not be increased by more than 20% annually without a full vote and discussion of budget by IPPA members. Currently, a fee of $360 is due every season.
Is the maintenance fee optional if I choose not to use the pool?
No. This fee is required whether or not the member plans to use the pool that season.
How am I billed for the maintenance fee?
The payment process is as follows:
  1. Invoices are mailed by March 1.
  2. Payment is due in full by April 1.
  3. Payments received after April 1 and before May 1 will be assessed a $65 late fee.
  4. If payment is not received by May 1, a suspension notice will be issued.
  5. Failure to pay maintenance fees by May 15 will result in deactivation of the member’s access key card.
What happens if I don’t pay my yearly maintenance fee?
Accounts not paid in full by May 25 will be disabled permanently. A new membership will need to be purchased in the future.
What options do I have if I am unable to pay my maintenance fee?
You can do one of three things:
  1. Not pay and lose your pool membership permanently.
  2. Pay the maintenance fee, but offer your membership up for a seasonal lease and collect your monies from a lessee.
  3. Pay the maintenance fee, but sell your membership and collect your membership fee as well as your maintenance fee in the sale.
Please note: Options two and three DO require that you pay your fees up front in order to keep your account active.

Will the Board ever impose special assessment costs?
In the event of major repairs, additions, cost increases or other matters, the Board may recommend a special one-time assessment to cover the costs. No assessment over 10 percent will be levied without a vote by the membership of IPPA. Any assessment under 10 percent will not require a full membership vote.

^ Access Key Cards

How many key cards come with my pool membership?
One access key card will be issued with each membership.
What do I do if I find a key card?
Please drop it in the IPPA mailbox. A Board Member will retrieve it.
What do I do if I lost my key card?
Please contact the Inman Pool Association immediately. If no one has turned in your lost card, our security company will deactivate the card. A new card can be purchased at a replacement cost of $65.
Who can use pool key cards?
Any member of your household may use the pool key cards to gain entrance to the pool. Please list each person that you authorize on your registration form. Authorized childcare professionals who take the member’s children to the pool may also be included.

^ Guests

Can members bring guests to the pool?
Members have 10 free “guest passes” per year. This is based on the honor system. Any visitors over 10 may be admitted at a cost of $5 each. Guests may be restricted on crowded days at the discretion of the Pool Manager.
Can I lend my access key card to a friend?
No. Pool members must always accompany guests.
Can my childcare professional use the pool?
Only caretakers registered in writing will be permitted access. The caretaker must sign in at the entrance with the members’ access number and is only allowed access when accompanying the members’ child(ren). Caretakers may be asked to show identification.

Can children of all ages use the pool?
Yes, with the following restrictions:
  1. No member under the age of 18 may swim at times posted Swim at Your Own Risk without a parent or other designated adult supervisor.
  2. No member under the age of 12 may swim AT ANY TIME, without a lifeguard on duty or Swim at Your Own Risk, without a parent or other designated adult supervisor.
Is there a kiddie pool?
Yes, there is a shallow pool available for small children and infants.
What is the proper swim attire for babies and small children?
Babies and young children who are not toilet trained must wear watertight protective plastic pants and a disposable swim diaper at all times. No diapers are allowed in the pool or the pool area. This rule will be strictly enforced.
Can children use an inner tube to aid in floatation?
Yes. Floatation devices are permitted for small children.

Can I hold an event at the pool?
Yes. Members may host parties and events at the pool. Please visit the Parties for complete details.
What constitutes a pool event?
If a member wishes to bring more than six guests to the pool or 10 or more member and guest is considered a pool event.

Are lifeguards on duty?
Lifeguards are on duty every day that the pool is open. However they are not on duty for every hour that the pool is open. Following is the lifeguard schedule:
May 1 – May 14: Monday – Friday 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
May 15– August 13: Daily 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
August 14– October 1: Monday – Friday 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Is the IPPA liable for accidents that happen under Swim at Your Own Risk conditions?
No. Each pool member must sign a waiver stating that they understand these terms.
Are there first-aid supplies at the pool?
There is a first aid kit in the staff storage area in the bathhouse.
Is there a public phone to use in case of an emergency?
There is a phone located in the entrance bathhouse. The phone is primarily for emergency use, so please make calls brief and limited. The phone number is 404-521-1039.

^ Restrictions

Can I bring glass containers into the pool area?
Glass containers are not allowed anywhere on pool property.
Can I bring food into the pool area?
Yes; however, food must be kept in the picnic area, per Fulton County Health Department regulations.
Can I bring floatation toys into the pool?
Use of floatation devices and toys is at the discretion of pool staff. In general, inflatable arm bands and small tubes for individual use can be used in the general swim area and children’s area. No such devices are allowed in the designated lap lanes. For safety reasons, large rafts, oversized tubes and high- powered water guns are not permitted. There are no hard plastic toys allowed in the pool.
Can I bring pets into the pool area?
Pets are not allowed.
What is the proper swim attire for adults?
Bathing suits must be worn. No cut-off jeans are allowed in the pool.
Is running allowed in the pool area?
No. Please no rowdy or unruly behavior.
Can I bring my bike into the pool area?
No bicycles, tricycles or wheeled toys are allowed in the pool area. If you ride your bicycle to the pool, keep it in the bike rack. Strollers should be kept in the upper deck area and should not be used as toys by children.
