Nancy & Bob Morrison
Shortly before their marriage in 1985, Bob and Nancy Morrison were drawn to the historic architecture and small town feel of Inman Park. They knew this was where they wanted to live. Over the years, they have experienced the gifts of community spirit and sense of belonging, which can be hard to find.
After renovating and living in a larger Victorian home on Euclid Avenue, the Morrisons heard that the owners of 136 Elizabeth Street would be moving. A quick deal was made and 136 became the perfect home for the couple and their two resident cats, Little Bob and Elizabeth.
The house was built in 1920 as a two-bedroom, one-bath cottage. After Bob and Nancy moved in, they began a major renovation in 1999 that opened up the entire back of the house. The transformation of the original two small bedrooms, kitchen and a bath is remarkable. The space became an inviting open kitchen/living area with wonderful views of Springvale Park-plus a cozy guest room, full bath and laundry room. You can often find Bob and Nancy enjoying the back deck or the comfortable front porch.
Recent work includes a new coat of paint, a new sidewalk (part of the neighborhood sidewalk project), plus the brick walkway and garden in the back yard. This is Bob and Nancy’s second and last home; they are sure they never will need or want another. And they’re pretty firm about that!
